However, since 2008, I’ve had to adapt to significant challenges, including three brain tumors (all meningiomas), radiation, and seizures, which greatly impacted my functional life. My mobility, balance, stability, and strength needed to be addressed.
I began incorporating active balance movements, multi-muscle exercises, and sports footwork to improve coordination between the mind and body—specifically mind/hand and mind/foot coordination. In the early years of my company, I specialized in circuit training. Now, I enhance circuits by including cardio movements and incorporating overload resistance training on one side of the body for individuals with unilateral weakness. Stretching is essential and can be integrated into circuits or performed individually, depending on each person’s needs.
